The Austrian Insurance Sector 2008: Growth in spite of financial crisis

Although the financial crisis was already noticeable in the third quarter, the Austrian insurance sector recorded a premium growth of more than 16 billion Euros. The insurance payments amount to a total of more than 11 billion Euros for the same period. 2009 will be a challenging year for the Austrian economy, the insurance sector counts on a stagnation of the premium income.

Attention motorcar drivers: Changes to the green card for travellers to Serbia and Montenegro

As of 11th July 2009 the old green insurance card loses its validity. The green cards affected are those displaying SCG (Serbia and Montenegro) on the country plaque instead of SRB (Serbia). Motorcar drivers planning to travel to Serbia or Montenegro in summer should certainly check their green cards. Should it prove necessary, your insurer will issue a new and valid green card.

Already 1.000 jobs have been staffed through the campagin “Profession with a future” which started last year. 2.000 jobs are still waiting for suitable applicants.
