Beware of Christmas Tree Fire!

Every year, there are hundreds of reported fires during Christmas in Austria. Most fires are caused by unattended burning candles on advent wreaths and Christmas trees. Household and/or building insurances might reduce the financial damage, nevertheless caution is advised.
New motor vehicle registration certificate in cheque card size

From 1 December it is possible to obtain the new motor vehicle registration certificate in a handy cheque card size at local vehicle registration offices. The old registration certificates remain valid; in future you may decide whether you prefer a paper certificate or the new chip card. The vehicle registration process itself will be as simple as before.
VVO-Study: Two third of all adolescents have poor knowledge of the financial system

62 percent of all adolescents aged between 14 and 20 admit to have no or only little knowledge of insurance matters and demand more financial education in Austrian schools. This was the result of a study currently carried out by the GfK institute. The Insurance Association corresponds to the results and launches its qualifying process.

These individuals benefit from the security and flexibility of the product, moreover the life insurance system acts as a business engine, risk manager and stabilizer of the pension system- a cornerstone for the economy.

Over the past 25 years, there has been a radical shift in opinion with regard to old age pension provision. Trust in state pensions is constantly on the wane. The population is sensitised to the topic and aware of the necessity to make individual provisions. These are the findings of a current study by GfK Austria for the Austrian Insurance Association (VVO).
